Vinyasa Hatha Flow
This class offers a dynamic flow where you will learn to link movement to breath to build heat & increase heart rate. Expect the fundamental flow of basic Vinyasa poses with an emphasis on mindfully working at your own pace & level, while learning proper alignment as you flow. Creative standing & seated sequencing is designed to build strength, flexibility & core conditioning. Modifications and advanced options will always be offered.
Gentle Flow Yoga
This is for all levels of practice and abilities and is especially great for beginners or those searching for the therapeutic benefits of yoga. This soothing gentle practice focuses on moving slowly into basic yoga poses while using the breath as a tool to remain present and mindful. The slow pace of this class allows you to enjoy each pose. Expect lots of stretching and lengthening with a heavy dose of relaxation to wrap up your practice and leave you feeling great.
Pure Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is often the misinterpreted and underappreciated “style” of Yoga. We have lost sight of the value in stillness and in turn, have completely stopped listening to our bodies. Yin Yoga is a great fit for all levels and backgrounds. Poses are held for 3-5 minutes stretching the connective tissue, fascia tissue, that surrounds every joint, muscle, ligament and organ in the body. To stretch and open the fascia tissue, the overlying muscles must be relaxed. Because the principle of all exercise is to stress tissue so the body will respond by strengthening it. Moderately stressing the joints during these long holds does not injure them, remember that connective tissue is different from muscle and needs to be treated differently. Instead of the rhythmic contraction and release that best stretches muscle, connective tissue responds best to a slow, steady load. If you gently stretch connective tissue by holding a yin pose for a long time, the body will respond by making them a little longer and stronger—which is exactly what you want.
Fitness Flow Yoga
Yoga mixed with fitness options. My fastest pace class may include repeating Vinyasa sequences to build heat & increase heart rate. This class will always include push-ups, arm balance work, longer strength holds, & core conditioning.
Great for everyone, including beginners! A perfect combination of active & passive styles of Yoga. If you like to explore dynamic poses, but also crave some deep stretching, this class will satisfy. Basic to moderate pace, with deep Yin Yoga stretches in various order of sequences. Each class is unique!
Slow is not easy, but works on strength. Slow Flow yoga is a balanced combination of sustained poses as well as poses flowing slower than a vinyasa or fitness flow, with a mindful progression from one to another. Attention is always given to basic alignment & therapeutic principles. Mindfulness; observing breath and body are an integral part of class. Classes are balanced with energy, to give you a good physical work-out, and calm, to keep you balanced
